The Science of Well-Being
Meditation
Meditation has been shown to lead to positive moods, increased concentration, and feelings of social connection. During meditation, brain connectivity and grey matter increase, and the effects grow with time. Speculatively, meditation practice also makes us happier by shutting off the default mode of mind-wandering that leads to unhappiness.
Movement
Twenty minutes of exercise per day can boost our mood, reduce depressive symptoms, and make our bodies healthier. Evidence consistently supports the positive effects of building strength, balance, flexibility, and agility. Movement at Via is designed to improve these four traits and enhance the body’s natural mobility.
Fuel
Our menu incorporates plant-based ingredients and superfoods with anti-inflammatory, detoxifying, and energy- and immunity-boosting properties.

Expressing Gratitude
Taking time to express gratitude can improve mood and lower stress levels, as well as strengthen the immune system and lower blood pressure. At Via, we put our gratitude expression into action by writing on the Wall of Gratitude.
Finding Purpose
Setting a daily intention provides a sense of purpose and motivation, allowing us to recognize and live our values and helping us to raise our emotional and physical energy. At Via, we reflect on a personal purpose each day by writing on the Wall of Intention.
Building Community
The simple act of making a new social connection can improve mood and make us less likely to fall prey to stress.
